Our Terms & Conditions

Eviction Locksmiths is a trading style of Safe as Houses Locksmiths Ltd. Locksmith tasks will be undertaken in accordance the request / instructions of the client. Generally these tasks will be charged at an hourly rate for attending and labour on site, a separate fee for the locks or equipment installed or supplied will also be charged. Eviction Locksmiths will undertake any task that we are trained and capable of completing at a sensible and mutually agreed cost. If the task is to be charged as a Fixed Fee we will notify the client and agree the charge rate prior to commencing work.

 

Eviction Locksmiths will issue a receipt for all works and parts/equipment supplied unless the client requests not to. Eviction Locksmiths will retain title and continue to own any lock, parts or equipment installed to any property until such times as it is paid for in full and the said funds have been credited to the Eviction Locksmiths account. The client agrees that Eviction Locksmiths will be entitled to recover any such parts or locks in the event of non-payment.

 

Payment for goods or services provided is due strictly on delivery and or completion of the service / task, or presentation of invoice. Payment can to be made to Eviction Locksmiths either by Card ( Excluding American Express ), BACs or cash on site. Cheques are not acceptable under any circumstances. Any client that does not settle their invoice in full will be regarded as being in fundamental  breach of contract and we reserve the right to initiate debt recovery proceedings to collect the outstanding balance. We further reserve the right to charge interest in accordance with prevailing legislation and to recover any fees associated with the debt recovery process from the client.

 

For tasks taken on by Eviction Locksmiths which are likely / will total more than £200.00 in value whether in equipment, labour or a combination of the two, we reserve the right to request a deposit prior to commencement of the task and the amount will be determined by Eviction Locksmiths. Any deposit taken will be non-refundable in the event that the task is cancelled by the client once equipment has been purchased.

 

Should the client feel that the task has not been performed correctly, they should contact Eviction Locksmiths in writing in the first instance within 7 days of the task.

After commencement of the task, should any issues arise that were not foreseen or visible at the start of works and which are likely to affect the duration or materially alter the task the client will be informed. Should this affect the cost in any form whether due to duration or equipment it will be explained and the client  who will have the final decision as to continue the works .

 

In the event that a UPVC lock mechanism has to be changed in full, Eviction Locksmiths will endeavour to change like for like. However, this may not be possible due to manufacturer changes and systems becoming obsolete. In the event that a system is obsolete Eviction Locksmiths will endeavour to provide a system as close to the old system as possible with the technical assistance of the manufacturers and suppliers. Eviction Locksmiths will undertake any replacement task providing that it is within their skills and training but cannot be held responsible should any system fitted other than an exact match fail to work 100% correctly.

 

Should an alternative system be fitted that subsequently fails to operate 100% correctly and or to the clients / Locksmiths wishes, Eviction Locksmiths will continue to endeavour to rectify the fault  until a mutual decision to finalise the task is taken. In the unlikely event that an alternative system fails to operate correctly and the task exceeds that stated / estimated, Eviction Locksmiths will charge the client at the rate of 50% the normal hourly rate to a maximum of an additional 4 hrs for the additional period due to misuse or damage by any party other than Eviction Locksmiths

 

Eviction Locksmiths will accept no claim or liability for damage to any door or frame unless it is a direct result of negligence by the Locksmith. If when trying to fit / once fitted a non-direct replacement lock to an old UPVC door and frame, the integrity of the door or / and frame is compromised, providing that the Locksmith explained the risks to the client, then this or any other repair / replacement cost will have to be borne by the client.
